In the countryside of São Paulo, on a sloping terrain, an extensive lawn is embraced by three volumes delicately positioned around it. On the horizon, a mountain range and a golf course frame the views, which can be enjoyed from a generous balcony protected by long eaves.
The BGM House was designed based on programmatic cores, which in turn also defined its shape. It was important that this separation between volumes was architecturally translated in a fluid manner, preserving paths and circulations.
The volumes that make up the house, therefore, are distributed radially from the social volume, which has a living and dining room (connected by a leafy internal garden), kitchen and an extensive balcony that opens onto the lawn, covered by the cantilever of a large eaves.
Carefully positioned walkways extend from the ends of the main nucleus and connect with the intimate volumes, in a transition marked by small and pleasant gardens, which here function as breathing spaces along the way.
The family room and main suites are located in the left volume, while the guest suites are located in the right volume.
The roofs meet at different angles, causing interesting visual overlaps.
Both volumes are surrounded by metal pillars, which in turn also function as brise-soleils. A system of slatted panels made of ecological wood connects the rooms with the lawn.
One of the project’s priorities was to create the feeling of a single-story house that was a space of calm, with its large living room that opens to the horizon. Therefore, we chose to allocate the leisure program on the lower floor, with a gourmet lounge, swimming pool, beach tennis, gym, spa and children’s room. This floor also contains a garage and a service area.
Works of art, signed furniture and design pieces were carefully selected to compose the interior design project, with the careful eye of our team along with the clients.
