Located in the outskirts of São Paulo with views to a large lake, the RV House project sought to highlight the connection with nature through its choice of materials. Wood and stone, applied in different ways, make up this refuge from the city for a young family in the midst of a preservation area.
The main access is at street level, where a long laminated wooden roof welcomes the visitor and guides the route to the interior of the house.
As a single-story house, the program was distributed on two perpendicular axes. The first, which contains the social area, is formed by the living room, dining room and gourmet area.
Large glass openings allow for free circulation of wind and abundant light throughout the day.
This volume also contains the kitchen, laundry area, bathroom and a home theater.
In the second volume are the intimate areas, with the master suite, children’s suite and guest suite. The street facade is entirely covered in stone and has small openings, as a way of maintaining residents’ privacy.
On the other hand, all suites have balconies that open onto the garden, providing direct connection with the external area.
The internal facade of the intimate volume is protected by trespa wood panels, which allows for control of light and maintains privacy in relation to the garden. At night, it is possible to observe the light emanating from inside the rooms due to the transparency of the material.
The pool is located at a slightly lower level, as a way to maintain visual connection with the lake from the house.
At the edge of the social volume, the large gourmet area overlooks the view on a cantilever that appears to float above the ground.
