Doha House

In order to meet the challenges of the large program demanded, while at same the time reducing the visual impact of the construction, we propose an architectural design completely aggregated into the terrain, in which the primary elements are water and vegetation.

The regular geometric form adopted, with a body of water at the center, is a reference to Arab aesthetics. The two symmetrical volumes in the form of an “L”, where the green cover touches the soil at the two extremities disappear into the landscape, as if they were merely a movement of the earth.

The façade of these buildings is composed of two layers of double glass, protected by perforated metallic panels. The design of these panels, created from algorithms, is never repeated and also makes reference to the Arab aesthetic of ornamentation.

A fachada destes edifícios é formada por duas camadas de vidros duplos protegidos por painéis metálicos perfurados. O desenho destes painéis, gerado a partir de algorítmicos, não se repete nunca e faz também referência à estética árabe de ornamentação.

O programa, dividido em dois níveis, se desenvolve em grande parte no subsolo. As áreas social, íntima (da família), de hóspedes, de trabalho, de lazer, de bem estar e de serviço são completamente isoladas e independentes entre si. A conexão entre essas áreas é feita pela parte de serviço, através de galerias subterrâneas, e pela parte social, através de jardins internos, passarelas e espelhos d`água.
