This is a house for a couple with a child, located in Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro. The extensive program resulted in the construction of three floors and one of them, of particular importance in the basement. This floor houses a large garage which is almost a social environment, reflecting the customer’s passion for cars. Also in the basement is a large room incorporating a home theater, a bar and a wine cellar, plus a fitness room and a sauna.

On the ground, where it is made pedestrian access, they are located the living and dining, kitchen, balconies and a pavilion for outdoor dining. All social rooms open onto the garden located on the lot of the background, in order to guide the home to the best direction of the sun as well as providing privacy with respect to the street and neighbors. This floor has locks on glass when facing the garden and planking of charred wood on the facades facing the street and the neighboring houses.

The pool has an organic form in order to create a geometric stiffness independence of the house. A ladder into the water blade connects the sauna and gym, located in the basement, the ground floor outside. The upper floor where the bedrooms and office are located, was all covered externally by a double skin glass frames and wire mesh panels that have been developed especially for this project.

The three floors are connected by a large triple-ceilinged hall where the trees planted in the ground, crossing the floors, as well as the ladder and transparent elevator. The glass cover of the hall has an automated opening system, moving completely, leaving the fully open environment.
